"No More Rain": Angie Stone's Life Cut Short in Tragic Accident

"No More Rain": Angie Stone's Life Cut Short in Tragic Accident

It's with a heavy heart that I'm writing about the passing of Angie Stone. It feels surreal to even type those words.

For those of us who grew up with her music, or discovered it later, she was more than just a singer. She was a voice, a force, a soul that resonated deep within. Angie Stone wasn't just another R&B artist. She was a pioneer, a true architect of neo-soul.

Her voice, rich and powerful, carried stories of love, pain, and resilience. She had that raw, authentic sound that felt like a conversation with a close friend. You could hear the life she'd lived in every note.
Angie Stone Daughter

I remember the first time I heard "No More Rain (In This Cloud)." It hit me like a ton of bricks. It wasn't just the melody; it was the sheer emotion she poured into every word. It was the kind of song that made you feel seen, understood. And that's what Angie Stone did best. She connected with her audience on a deeply personal level. Beyond her music, she was a symbol of strength and self-acceptance. She was unapologetically herself, and that resonated with so many people. She showed us that it's okay to be vulnerable, to be real.

The world has lost a truly remarkable talent. Her music will live on, a testament to her incredible artistry and the impact she had on so many lives. We'll miss her voice, her spirit, and the soulful energy she brought to everything she did. Rest in peace, Angie Stone. Your music will forever be a part of our lives.

The Incident:
Angie Stone died in a car crash early Saturday morning.
The vehicle she was in, a cargo van, "flipped over and was subsequently hit by a big rig."

The accident occurred while she and others were traveling from a performance in Montgomery, Alabama, back to Atlanta, Georgia.  The accident occured around 4:00am.

The information has been confirmed by her daughter, Diamond Stone, and music producer Walter Millsap III.

While Angie Stone tragically died in the crash, reports indicate that the other passengers in the van survived.

She had just finished a performance in Montgomery, Alabama and, was scheduled to perform at the halftime show of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's Championship basketball game on Saturday.

Angie Stone's journey in music is a testament to her incredible talent and enduring influence. From her early days as the lead singer and rapper of the pioneering hip-hop trio, The Sequence, she laid the foundation for a career that would redefine soul music.

The 1990s saw her collaborating with giants like Lenny Kravitz and D'Angelo, setting the stage for her groundbreaking solo debut, Black Diamond, in 1999. This album gifted us "No More Rain (In This Cloud)," a track that beautifully showcased her soulful roots by sampling Gladys Knight & The Pips' poignant "Neither One of Us (Wants To Say Goodbye)."

Angie Stone son with Deangelo

Her transition to Clive Davis' J Records in 2001 marked the release of the seminal Mahogany Soul. This album, featuring the unforgettable "Wish I Didn't Miss You," which sampled The O'Jays' timeless "Backstabbers," solidified her status as a neo-soul icon. That track alone has resonated with millions, boasting over 100 million streams on Spotify, a true signature of her enduring appeal.

Angie Stone's discography is rich and diverse, with albums like Stone Love (2004), The Art of Love & War (2007), Unexpected (2009), Dream (2015), and Full Circle (2019) further showcasing her versatility and artistry.

Her collaborative spirit is equally impressive. She's lent her voice and talent to a staggering array of artists, including Alicia Keys, Snoop Dogg, Musiq Soulchild, Eve, Anthony Hamilton, Floetry, Calvin Richardson, Betty Wright, D'Angelo, The Neptunes, Guru, James Ingram, Dave Hollister, Jaheim, Omar, Candy Dulfer, Joe, Stevie Wonder, Groove Armada, Reel People, and Lenny Kravitz, among many others. This extensive list speaks volumes about her respect within the music industry and her ability to connect with artists across genres. Angie Stone's legacy is one of soulful innovation, powerful vocals, and a profound connection with her audience.

Soul Divas Jill Scott and Erykah Badu - Served Virtual Food!

Divas Jill Scott and Erykah Badu battled it out on Instagram Live Saturday night – and Michelle Obama was here for it. So were Spike Lee and Janet Jackson, among other well-known celebrities.

The so-called battles have become incredibly popular in recent days as performers and their fans struggle to adapt to life in lockdown, courtesy of the coronavirus pandemic. Most fans said this wasn’t a battle, just two queens celebrating each other.

Saturday night's battle was the first between two female performers. Both shared some of their best-known hits with grateful fans.

"Love your sister," Scott wrote. "Love your brother. Recognize and celebrate each other. There's room in the inn."

Obama, who describes herself as "hugger-in-chief" in her Twitter bio, was an active participant in the performance, posting multiple comments. She requested Badu's "Green Eyes" and even tagged her famous hubby.

Rapper Timbaland also liked what he saw, posting "yessssssssssss" at one point during the broadcast, which peaked at more than 700,000 live viewers.
Others who've taken part in COVID-19 Instagram battles include RZA, Babyface and DJ Premier.
Badu, on Twitter, called the battle "adorable and funny."

"We sooooo appreciate it," she wrote. "We been in this game a long time. Many a baby was created up out of our music."

R&B Singer Jeremih - Deadbeat Dad? 🤔Nah! Prove it!

👶🏽🍼
←←LET'S REWIND A FEW YEARS AGO...

R&B Singer and Producer, "Jeremih" and Rachel Leigh from Black Ink: Chicago has a child together? 🤔
You mean... Ryan Henry of 9Mag Rachel? 😮
Interesting!
I mean unless you know them personally or did some digging like I did, this has to be Rachel's best kept secret.

I always thought Ryan Henry was the father of  both of her kids.  Which could easily be assumed, due to the fact that on Black Ink, Ryan always showed how he cared for both children and referred to them as his boys. There was never a mention of only one being biologically his, until one fine Father's Day, a mini social media beef erupted...

Ryan wrote:
"To keep bulls**t down, I keep my intimate personal away from social media as much as possible, but I have two kids. Not just one. My second son is not mine biologically, and I take nothing away from his father, but my son’s brother is treated as my son is, no question about it. Many won’t agree and bash me for just doing what God put in my path to HELP raise two great blessings, and I don’t care, yall ass can Die. My son will never be able to ask me “why did you do this for me and not my brother”.. They are one and the same. Realize people, our kids are not at fault for our youthful mistakes, so they don’t understand half brothers, step fathers sh!t. All they need to be is raised correctly by as many parental figures as possible. Peace to the fathers today, cuz I love my kids and let them know EVERYDAY for whenever I may leave this world. And f**k the Rest. Protector, Provider."
Jeremih replied with:
“damn i ain’t know u still work for the circus lol , U already know Canyon don’t need nothin from you but to be his brothers father . #happyfathersday”

Ryan with the comeback:
“@jeremih this was positive.. I don’t want no smoke with yall lol. [series of emojis] Happy you Day lil lady…”

It was also rumored that Rachel kept Jeremih's son Canyon away; after she and Ryan hooked back up. Rachel's older son Mason, is by Ryan. Rachel stated in a VH1 interview that her relationship with Ryan ended due to his infidelity. She also revealed that she hooked up with "a celebrity" to take her mind off of Ryan (which she said worked) but was impregnated by him. Not wanting to reveal his name, she claimed Jeremih was not supportive and that they broke up before she had the baby. When she got back with Ryan he played the Father role despite Canyon not being his.

In Jeremih's defense in a 2014 interview with Billboard Magazine-
Jeremih stated:
“I stopped caring about being Jeremih over the last few months,” he says. “A lot of people don’t know I have a 2-year-old son. His mom wasn’t allowing me to see him, and it was messing with me.” “I was internally unbalanced. But I just got out of that trial and I won.”
When I heard the rumor of him being labeled a "Deadbeat", I had to see if there is truth to this.  We can clearly see from the above photos of them, he was there at some point and looked like a happy family. Obviously something had to have happened after that if Jeremih who is clearly making money; to deny his own child.

🖊
➤➣NOW FAST FORWARD... I'm just shocked that they hooked up, to begin with. I guess Jeremih and Rachel crossed paths in his hometown Chicago, Illinois. Jeremih always strikes me as really young and quiet, but somehow met and impregnated Rachel at the peak of his career.
We see this all the time... women being reckless and having "Revenge babies" or intentionally getting knocked up for a celebrity. She clearly stated that she broke up with Ryan; who had cheated on her, so it's safe to say Rachel was out in the streets looking to get even. Yup! I saw how she moved on Black Ink... very sly though she comes off innocent, I always said something deeper was going on.
I have to now wonder if that whole "being mad he messed with Kat, wasn't just for a storyline; because she was out there being messy too... Now she and Ryan are no longer together. 🤔 I guess she felt like she keeps getting played by Ryan. Damn! what y'all think?

💟 Rihanna - A Billion Reasons To Smile!

💞💓😍💞💓
The 31 year old Bajan sensation Rihanna "Riri" Fenty is in love and we couldn't be more happy for her.
In a recent interview Riri admitted to being in an exclusive relationship for over (2) two years. We did some digging; and she's been spotted a few times getting cozy with a tall, handsome, dark-haired guy, clearly of Middle Eastern descent. Let's admit she looks happy as hell.

His name is Hassan Jameel, a Saudi Arabian billionaire businessman who serves as the deputy president and Vice Chairman of the family business Abdul Latif Jameel, which owns Toyota distribution rights in Saudi Arabia. He is also the owner of a pro soccer league.

In a recent interview she stated:

"Yeah, I'm dating," "I'm actually in an exclusive relationship for quite some time, and it's going really well, so I'm happy." - Rihanna, Vogue Interview
Although their cultures are worlds apart, they seem to have found a common interest. As we know most middle eastern traditions are very strict from their dress codes, religion (Islam) to who they wed!

We are not sure what Jameel's situation is but hopefully Rihanna will take her time and find out if this is what she really wants, before she gets in too deep.

RELATIONSHIP HISTORY:

Drake (2010 - 2016)
Chris Brown (2007 - 2013)
Ryan Phillippe (2011 - 2012)
Matt Kemp (2010)
Josh Hartnett (2007 - 2008)
Negus Sealy (2001 - 2003)

So we all know Rihanna has dated quite a few famous guys in the past. We can't forget her toxic relationship with R&B singer Chris Brown, who left her physically and emotionally scarred.
It is said that Chris still loves Ri and upon hearing of her relationship with Jameel left him heartbroken. 💔

🖊 MY VIEW:
I think CB should let it go... some things you can never come back from. Even if Rihanna wanted to give Chris another chance; she not only knows it would be risking her life but, many folks that love her would be highly disappointed. I think she still cares a lot for CB, and may even still love him, but he blew his chances the first time.
Anywhoo, we wish all of them the best and will of course continue to keep you updated. 👍🏽

Usher & Tameka Raymond’s 5 year old Son In ICU Following a Pool Accident

Usher & Tameka Raymond’s 5 year old Son In ICU Following a Pool Accident

On this past Sunday Usher posted this photo with him and his son Usher Jr. along with the words
"The love of a family is one of life's greatest blessings."

Usher’s 5-year-old son was rushed to the intensive care unit of an Atlanta hospital after a horrific swimming pool accident.

Usher Raymond V nearly drowned after getting his arm wedged into drain of the family swimming pool Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The boy's aunt, Rena Odin, and a maid had tried unsuccessfully to free the child, who had been trying to retrieve a toy that fell into the drain, but a pair of workmen managed to free the boy, according to Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos.

"My nephew was in the pool and he went in and I couldn't get him," Odin frantically told an emergency operator in the 911 call. "I tried to get him. They got him and did CPR on him."

A paramedic could later be heard on the call telling the dispatcher that Usher Raymond V "drowned but he's breathing now."

Campos said the boy was "conscious, alert and breathing" when paramedics arrived before 4 p.m. He was at the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite.

Though the boy is still in the hospital, doctors expect a full recovery.

Usher Raymond V is one of two sons of Usher and Tameka Foster, who divorced two years after getting married in 2007. The singer went through a long legal fight with his ex-wife and was awarded primary physical custody of his two sons last year.

Wow! speaking of bad luck with water, if you remember Foster is still recovering from the death of a son from a previous relationship last year. Usher’s stepson, 11-year-old Kile Glover, died in July 2012 after being struck in the head in a jet ski accident on Georgia’s Lake Lanier.

Tameka Foster's son & Usher's Stepson, Kile Glover, Died in a boating Accident!

Our prayers are once again with the family of Usher who is a very devoted Father.

Beyonce and Baby Blue Ivy in NYC

OUT AND ABOUT ::: BEY and BLUE Ivy

Sorry i'm late with this... I am not feeling well today :( and I didn't know whether to go with a "Blue" or pink theme for this story. Hee hee ; )

So the Carter's were doing a great job keeping baby Blue under wraps! until today... oh the beauty of camera-phones...
Beyonce was spotted in The Big Apple (NYC) holding her now 7-month-old baby girl and from what we can see clearly... she is growing quickly. Bey rocked her new hair-do, it took me back to the old Destiny's Child days.

Is it just me or does Bey seem smaller than usual, maybe she is on a post-baby diet. Oh well...

What do you think of her new look? Do you think baby Blue looks like Jay-z? I can see a resemblance.

Michael Jackson Estate Clears MJ's Massive Debt...

Michael Jackson Estate Clears MJ's Massive Debt... Well Almost!

Michael Jackson's estate has made a fortune since the singer's death... so much in fact ... it's nearly paid off $500 million in debt the King of Pop left behind when he died. WOW!

Executors for the Estate filed legal docs which show the Estate has generated gross earnings exceeding $475 million as of the end of May.

According to the docs, all of MJ's debts have been paid, with the exception of a BIG debt involving Michael's publishing catalog ... and executors expect that will be fully paid off by the end of the year.

It's not only good news for the Estate ... it's great news for the small army of lawyers who have been handling all the legal and business affairs.  Their fees -- from May, 2010 through November, 2011 -- exceeded $13.6 MILLION!

Two other things ... Katherine is asking for an additional $34,700 a month to pay for lawyers and accountants, and another $205,041 to cover lawyer and accountant fees from 2011.

Final thing... There are still some unresolved creditors' claims and several lawsuits to clear up.

All in all ... not a bad turnaround. I'll say!
Singing really pays off! Can you sing?
