Dancehall Reggae Artist - Vybz Kartel 35 Years + Hard Labour

Wow! Vybz Kartel Gets 35 Years plus Hard Labour

Popular dancehall artist Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, was sentenced to 35 years in a Jamaican prison along with Shawn “Storm” Campbell, and his friends AndrĂ© St John, and Kahira Jones.

The men were escorted out of court by heavily armed police officers, where they will head straight to a high security prison.

The four men were convicted
on March 13, 2014, by a 10:1 jury in the Home Circuit court in Downtown Kingston for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.

"The allegation is that on Monday, July 11, 2011, Palmer, along with other men, conspired to murder Barrington Burton o/c 'Bossie', a 27-year-old businessman/promoter of a Gregory Park address in St Catherine. Burton was murdered while he was standing with friends along Walkers Avenue in Gregory Park,"  according to police.
The guilty verdict sent shock waves throughout the dancehall community worldwide, with claims that the case was marred by police corruption and tampering with evidence.

Fans shed tears as Home Circuit court judge Justice Lennox Campbell handed down the heart wrenching sentence.

Attorneys for Vybz have started their long road to appeal the sentence in the high court; which can take as long as 5 years due to back logs.

How can someone so successful throw their life away like this?? Wow! wow! wow!

R.I.P to the victim. Praying for both families. smh.
