Usher & Tameka Raymond’s 5 year old Son In ICU Following a Pool Accident

Usher & Tameka Raymond’s 5 year old Son In ICU Following a Pool Accident

On this past Sunday Usher posted this photo with him and his son Usher Jr. along with the words
"The love of a family is one of life's greatest blessings."

Usher’s 5-year-old son was rushed to the intensive care unit of an Atlanta hospital after a horrific swimming pool accident.

Usher Raymond V nearly drowned after getting his arm wedged into drain of the family swimming pool Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The boy's aunt, Rena Odin, and a maid had tried unsuccessfully to free the child, who had been trying to retrieve a toy that fell into the drain, but a pair of workmen managed to free the boy, according to Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos.

"My nephew was in the pool and he went in and I couldn't get him," Odin frantically told an emergency operator in the 911 call. "I tried to get him. They got him and did CPR on him."

A paramedic could later be heard on the call telling the dispatcher that Usher Raymond V "drowned but he's breathing now."

Campos said the boy was "conscious, alert and breathing" when paramedics arrived before 4 p.m. He was at the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite.

Though the boy is still in the hospital, doctors expect a full recovery.

Usher Raymond V is one of two sons of Usher and Tameka Foster, who divorced two years after getting married in 2007. The singer went through a long legal fight with his ex-wife and was awarded primary physical custody of his two sons last year.

Wow! speaking of bad luck with water, if you remember Foster is still recovering from the death of a son from a previous relationship last year. Usher’s stepson, 11-year-old Kile Glover, died in July 2012 after being struck in the head in a jet ski accident on Georgia’s Lake Lanier.

Our prayers are once again with the family of Usher who is a very devoted Father.

Oh No Not Randy: Randy Travis Arrested

Country singer Randy Travis was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

It is said Travis was found naked at the scene and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

A Pontiac Trans Am registered to Travis, 53, had driven off a road west of Tioga around midnight Tuesday, said Tom Vinger, spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The vehicle had struck several barricades in a construction zone, according to DPS.

Vinger said Travis made threats against Texas Highway Patrol troopers and was not wearing clothes at the time of his arrest. He refused sobriety tests, Vinger said, so a blood specimen was taken.

Travis was released on $21,500 bond Wednesday morning pending an appearance before a judge in Sherman, about 60 miles north of Dallas. Blood test results are pending.

This mug shot shows Travis with a black eye and cuts he suffered during the crash.
Travis was charged with DWI and retaliation for making the threats. Travis is currently in custody.

Michael Clarke Duncan
HOSPITALIZED Cardiac Arrest

Michael Clarke Duncan is in the intensive care unit at an L.A. hospital after going into cardiac arrest this morning and might have died if not for the swift action of his girlfriend Omarosa Manigault.

We have learned that Omarosa discovered the "Green Mile" actor in a state of cardiac arrest just before 2:00 AM.

We're told Omarosa performed CPR and was able to resuscitate the 54-year-old. Michael was transported to a nearby hospital where he was immediately admitted to the ICU.

Sources tell us Duncan's heart rate is now stable and Omarosa is by his side. Doctors are performing tests to figure out why the actor's heart stopped in the first place.

Michael's publicist tells us, "According to doctors, Michael Clarke Duncan suffered a myocardial infarction early this morning. He is now stable and we look forward to his full recovery."
