How old is too old! for a little boy to go into a public restroom with his mother? Hmm!

My 6 yr. old son says to me all the time "Mom I'm a big boy now, I want to go in the boy's restroom." I had to explain to him that at his age it is safer for him to go where I can watch and protect him from possible child kidnappers.

 I always wonder what other women think when Moms like myself carry their sons into the Ladies restroom? Is it understandable?
