Rick Ross Attacked in Canada: Unveiling the Drake Connection

Rick Ross is adamant that he wasn't punched during the weekend attack by a mob in Canada that involved him and his group.

Rick Ross Attacked in Canada: Unveiling the Drake Connection

On the evening of July 5, 2024, hip-hop star Rick Ross was reportedly attacked in Toronto, Canada, following a concert performance. The incident has sent shockwaves through the music community, especially with rumors circulating about a potential connection to fellow rapper and Toronto native, Drake.

The Incident
Rick Ross, known for his deep voice and larger-than-life persona, was performing at a sold-out show at Toronto's Scotiabank Arena. After a successful performance, Ross was ambushed by unidentified assailants outside his hotel. Initial reports indicate that Ross was physically assaulted, suffering minor injuries, but managed to escape without life-threatening harm. The motives behind the attack remain unclear. Law enforcement officials have launched an investigation, scrutinizing various angles, including potential rivalries and personal grievances. As the investigation progresses, fans and media outlets alike are speculating about the possible connections and motivations behind the attack.

The Drake Connection
Drake, a Toronto native and one of the biggest names in the music industry, has a well-documented history with Rick Ross. The two have collaborated on multiple tracks, including hits like "Money in the Grave" and "Aston Martin Music."
Their professional relationship has been largely positive, marked by mutual respect and successful musical ventures. However, Toronto's music scene is also known for its complex web of alliances and rivalries. While there is no evidence to suggest that Drake is directly involved in the attack on Rick Ross, some believe that the incident could be related to broader tensions within the local hip-hop community. Drake's influence in Toronto is immense, and any significant event involving a major artist like Rick Ross is bound to bring Drake's name into the conversation. If you can recall in 2018 during the Pusha T and Drake beef, several people started throwing beer and paint at rapper Pusha T before attempting to rush the barriers, resulting in a brawl. The group was subsequently apprehended by security, with Pusha leaving the stage seemingly unscathed.
However, a man is in critical condition after being stabbed during the concert held at Toronto's Danforth Music Hall. Was this a coincidence or premeditated by Drake's fans?

The Aftermath
Rozay broke his silence on the viral incident—in which he and his team were attacked following the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver, Canada on Sunday (June 30—on Wednesday, July 4). Before all fury erupted, a video showed the Miami rapper getting attacked and spilling his drink. The MMG head, though, is sure he was not struck during the fight.

"Let me tell you something," he began in the video below. "When the first dude stepped up to Rozay—the little short fat one who looked like Bam Bam Bigelow from wrestling—when he stepped up and then I squat down to his eyes and then I told him what I said. Basically, 'Boy, if I hit you, I'ma see everything you ate for the last two days.' His balls dropped out of his a*s. He never said another word."
Rick Ross is adamant that he wasn't punched during the weekend attack by a mob in Canada that involved him and his group.

"Then, the ni**a behind him said, 'I know MMA!'" Ross continued. "Then, I got hit with a drink. I'm still convinced ain't no ni**a punch me. Somebody said, 'The ni**a tried to punch you. He hit you.' I said, 'Nah.' He had to throw a drink. Because throwing a drink would have been way more disrespectful than screaming 'I know MMA!'"

Meanwhile, Drake, who had been silent since the incident, was seen replying to a post on social media, which revealed everything we needed to know about his thoughts on the matter at hand.
Keep6ixSolid, a Toronto-based Instagram blogger, saw that Drake liked the video, however, the musician hasn't said anything else publicly.
Ross appeared unaffected by the attack, telling TMZ on Monday that no one on his team had been gravely harmed.

🖊 A Penny for My Thoughts
Fans have taken to social media to express their concerns and theories. While some argue that the attack might be unrelated to any music industry rivalries, others suggest it could be a fallout from unresolved conflicts within the community. As the investigation continues, the public remains eager for answers.

The attack on Rick Ross in Toronto is a stark reminder of the sometimes volatile nature of the music industry. While the true motives behind the incident are still unknown, the potential connection to Drake adds a layer of intrigue and speculation. As authorities work to uncover the truth, fans and the music community at large are left to ponder the implications of this shocking event.

The coming weeks will likely bring more clarity as investigations proceed and more information surfaces. Until then, the world watches closely, hoping for a resolution that ensures the safety and well-being of all involved parties.
