15 Things Every 30 year old Should Have and 15 Things You Should Know by the Time Your 30!
At around 25 many people begin dreading the "BIG 30". For me turning 30 was an exciting point in my life. Of course that may have been because I was a bit content with the way my life was going so far, but we all know sometimes we can be our own biggest critics, and that fine! but don't forget that if you are not happy with certain aspects of your life, then honey it's time to make some changes.
Turning 30 does not have to be the end of the world, but at some point you must stop and evaluate what needs to be added, taken away or changed, and what better age to do it than "30" :)
By 30, you should have:
- One old boyfriend/girlfriend that you can imagine going back to and one who reminds you of how far you’ve come.
- A decent piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in your family.
- At least one mentor. Someone positive you look up too and gives great advice.
- At least one trustworthy friend who would be delighted to be your Maid of Honour or Best Man.
- A vehicle, it doesn't have to be fancy but, can get you safely to point A and back.
- A past!! not just any past... something scandalous that you can now say you've learned from. :)
- Savings... a few dollars set-aside (for emergency purposes).
- At least one e-mail address, voice-mail and a bank account—all of which nobody has access to but you.
- A skin-care regimen, an exercise routine that will make embracing 40 a breeze.
- Something ridiculously expensive that you bought for yourself, just because you deserve it.
- Men...a set of tools, and Ladies at least 2 sexy lingerie.
- That perfect outfit to wear, for a sporadic date with your boss, significant other or a job interview.
- A creative outlet. Gardening, blogging, cooking, painting. Note: Watching TV and getting your nails manicured doesn't count.
- A charity that you donate to, or doing volunteer work in your community.
- A solid start on a satisfying career, a satisfying relationship and all those other facets of life that do get better.
By 30, you should know:
- That nobody gets away with smoking, drinking, doing drugs or not flossing for very long.
- Who you can trust, who you can’t and why you shouldn’t take it personally.
- How you feel about having kids.
- When to try harder and when to walk away.
- To accept that there is at least one person out there who hates you, and probably another who is envious of you.
- The names of: the secretary of state, your great-grandmother and the best tailor in town.
- How to live alone, even if you don’t like to.
- Your body. Everyone should know what triggers allergies and what may cause a bowel movement at brunch.
- That you can’t change the length of your calves, the width of your hips or the nature of your parents even with surgery.
- That your childhood may not have been perfect, but it’s over.
- What you would and would not do for money or love.
- How to fall in love without losing yourself.
- How to quit a job, break up with a man and confront a friend without ruining the friendship.
- How many drinks take you to tipsy then how to control yourself.
- Why they say life begins at 30.
:) Welcome to PRIME TIME!
